NS Small Business Access-Ability Grant Program

  

The province announced the $1-million Small Business ACCESS-Ability GRANT Program today to help Nova Scotia small businesses be more accessible.

 

The program supports the Accessibility Act, passed in April, with goals to make Nova Scotia accessible in six areas by 2030.

 

Funds are available for communication, such as accessible signs, public transportation, education and training, devices for disabled employees and customers, and eligible renovations.

 

Government will pay up two-thirds of projects up to: -- $50k for the built environment -- $30k for accessible communication services -- $30k for the provision of assistive devices -- $40k for accessible transportation projects and -- 100% for Rick Hansen Foundation training

The small business program is in addition to the Community ACCESS-ability Program (https://lnkd.in/grEzn8J), which provides $1 million per year to community organizations.
